As you progress in the game, you will eventually find some NPC that will be willing to teach some of the party characters various techniques

Yamamaya; By Meiriona

Speak to Meiriona with Yamamaya in your party and she'll offer to teach Yamamaya some of her old battle axe techniques, as long as you're willing to pay a bit for the upkeep of the Elven Village.

Technique

Quest completed Sil cost Effect Momentum Cost
Taunt Requires Stuck in the Middle With You 5.000 Increases Yamamaya's threat generation by 150%, and gives 2 actions on the next turn. 5
Shield Buster Requires A Manxome Foe 15.000 Damages an enemy, applies a defense debuff, and removes cover (Cover, Stonewall, Guardian, Wing Shield, Shieldwall) 8
Lion Charge Requires Elf Half Empty 30.000 Attacks an enemy. If that enemies dies, attacks a second target.[1] 20

Elaiya; a Kellosian after the invasion from Eastfort

After the Circle of Strife quest, there will be a guard near the top of Eastfort. He will want you to get him away from there. Go buy the tenement in Northmarket Slums for 5.500 Sil and then talk to the guard again. You will either fight him or put him to sleep if you have sleep powder. You will be teleported to the tenant house with the guard living there now (you get a Slave Collar from him). Talk to him with Elaiya in the party to get this move. It gives the move Snapfire and allows you to learn two more skills after that.

Technique Sil cost Effect Momentum Cost
Snapfire Free [2] Increased damage based on Attack and Luck stat. +12 Momentum gain. 0
Strike and Fade 750 Sil, he wants you to get him a Phrasebook, you will be able to find this in the Scroll shop at Southport University District, even without investing in it. Increased damage based on Attack and Luck Stat. Automatically uses stealth after attack. 15

Hero; Ser Brigandine de Mont-Fleur.

After acquiring the Westcastle Manor, you can find Brigandine in her house, at Westcastle - Noble District. When she goes to teach The Hero the first move she gives the name "Faucher de Fou" in her native tongue, which the hero thinks sound stupid so he renames it to the Meteor Smash. After that Brigandine decides to translate the moves in advance although she admits that his name keeps the spirit of the original, which is roughly Crazy Swing.

Technique

Level Requirement Sil cost Effect Momentum Cost
Meteor Smash none 10.000 Does extra damage, but halves your DEF for 2 turns 10
Twice-Cutting Wind 20 20.000 Damages an enemy twice 15
Eternal Crescent 28 40.000 Attacks two random enemies 12
Razor Falling Rain 35 80.000 Damages all enemies 20

The total cost is 210,750 Sil.

That is all the trains that are present in the game in the current version.

  1. If a follow-up attack misses, the chain will still continue until an enemy does not die to it or all enemies are dead. As more enemies die to the move, each successive hit does more damage.
  2. Alternatively, if you have not completed Ain't No Party Like A Search Party yet you should take Elaiya with you. During the quest on the 4th floor of the 'Giant's Path - Caves' just before the Ogre, you'll find a single Kellos gunman who will offer to train Elaiya in exchange for his life. He'll teach her snapfire for free if she's in your party. Once done, he will also ask for a phrase book for a new skill, but having a phrasebook in your inventory does not let you learn the next skill in the mountain path
