Revision as of 09:35, 17 November 2020
This is for secrets, collections to find, and things outside of the main quests that you have to look for.
*Spoilers, spoilers, spoilers*
If you like the exploration and finding things on your own stop reading now. Although some items may be missable, so if you want to make sure you don't miss anything but want the fewest number of spoilers, check this list if you want to progress in an easier way.
Contents
Dark Seeds
Dark Seeds are a series of Key Items that can be found throughout the game. Dark Seeds are missable as some can only be found during quests.
Dark Seeds can be given to the Creepy Guy in the Slums building with a save point sign and a crossed rod/staff sign. You receive a reward for every 5 Seeds you give him. See the Dark Seeds article for details.
Buried Treasures
In several locations there are buried treasures that can be dug up. If you have the Shovel in your inventory, and if you are standing at the exact location you can dig them up. See the Buried Treasures article for details.
Porn
Like Dark Seeds, the location of Porno Mags and Erotic Novels will not be in the quest walkthrough but instead the number to be found. Porno Mags are worth +1 Satisfaction each, and Erotic Novels are worth +3 Satisfaction if you finish it. See the Porn items article for details.

Strange Notes
Eight Strange Notes that can be found in the game. They hint at something dark and potentially terrifying. Finding all of them might be either really good or really bad. They just might be related to the thing that keeps watching you.
- One is on the floor in a hovel in the Northmarket Slums.
- One is on the wall of a building in the Bitter Marsh (prior to v36, this note was found at the Abandoned Border Fort instead).

- In a mirror in hotel room 13 F1 on the island where you have your vacation.
- At an abandoned campsite in the West Feywoods.
- On the first floor of the southern townhouse in the Northmarket Wealthy District (Can only be collected if the player has the other seven notes).
Easter Eggs
So the game is chock full of references thought a list of them would be interesting and highlight some of the wonderful work that has gone into the game.
Game references
- If you look there is a recurring Pokemon reference. Hint: Gen1. It is a sacred number.
- 151 Girls/Pokemon: This one should be a little obvious and when asked on the forum where the game came from NoMoshing related a story about saying "well you know girls are like pokemon Gotta Catch 'em All!" 151 is of course the number of the original Pokemon, so a harem of 151 girls ... you can say you have caught them all! (Now being able to put them in balls might be a little difficult).
- A second Pokemon reference can be found in Ain't no party like a search party. When you find the dwarf with the broken leg our hero says "Felix/Healbot I choose you!" A direct reference to calling out a Pokemon before a battle.
- The four Deity Spirits of Sunnyshore Island (Tapu Waifu, Tapu Bara, Tapu Yande, and Tapu Futa) are a reference to the four Guardian Tapu Pokemon from Sun and Moon. The latter half of their names will be familiar to those who know their hentai subgenres.
- Dungeons and Dragons
- Chock full all the way through - perhaps the most obvious being in Na Na Why Don't You Get A Job and Research Materials where the various D&D alignments are mentioned and a slew of D&D magic items are referenced, respectfully.
- A serving girl in Bitch's Sixth Tit says she needs a drink just to get through the day and the hero answers, "What are you, a dwarf?" This refers to Dwarf Fortress dwarves, who all "need alcohol to get through the working day."
- The gift shop at the west side of your manor is an Easter Egg for the game Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale. The person you invest with is the fairy (Tear) and the shopkeeper (Recette) is the main character you control in that game. Now apparently more grown up. Darn that there was no quest to add her to the harem. Yet.
- The code 06:10:50 (that can used in various stopped clocks around ) is a reference to the Final Fantasy franchise.
- Earthbound
- Apple Kid and Orange Kid are named after the Apple Kid and Orange Kid in Earthbound. (Mother 2)
- PK (psychokinesis) Thrust and PK Rockin' are both references to the Mother/Earthbound series. PK "Thrust" isn't a PK move that's in the series, but "PK Rockin'" is. (It's the default name for your "favorite thing" in Earthbound.)
- In the love quest "A Debt to Pay", the five guardians reference Earthbound. Each of them say (in some way) that they are the third strongest of them all (the 5 moles in the desert mine).
- During bonus boss #3 the text "Cannot grasp the true form of It's attack" is a reference to the boss battle with Giygas.
- The Book of Hax Item from Easy Mode has a Reference to Chrono Trigger when used.
- Use a shovel on cobblestone is a reference to Wurm Online.
- Hellcow Helmet : the description reads that it is a helmet made from the leather of legendary hell cows. This is a reference to the secret cow level in Diablo II called Bovine Hell which is filled with Cows of extreme difficulty wielding two-handed weapons.
- Faith's Bastion - Exterior has an Old Man caretaker who you can ask "What's a paladin?", a reference to Ultima 9's infamous scene where the Avatar asks the same question.
- Fallout - The "Check Out My Package" quest has you deliver a "Vault Boy wristwatch", a reference to the iconic mascot from the Fallout series.
- Ar Tonelico- The Machine Angel in Stranger Things sings in Hymnos the magical language in Ar Tonelico in order to destroy the area once you defeat her.
- Commander Keen - In Southport Docks District on sunny days a man next to the fish seller says she sells a "dope fish" with a followup from Hero calling him a keen commander. This is a blatant reference to the Dope Fish from the Commander Keen series, specifically Episode 4: Secret of the Oracle.
- Quest For Glory - Multiple references exist. One such is during the Quest for the Cure quest, in which a gravestone lists the series timeline minus the fifth game, Dragonfire, which was widely panned as being nothing like the previous four games in the series, and is frequently considered non-canon by long-time fans.
- Stranger Things - MTG reference in two different locations "Terramorphic expanse" and "Evolving wilds"; both are lands card that become a different kind of land.
- In Eastfort, next to the bank, there will be a man selling illegal drugs standing there. When you talk to him he'll start by saying, "Hey, it's a secret to everyone. Now, whaddya want?" Which is a reference to the poorly translated phrase, "It's a secret to everybody" used in just about every official "The Legend Of Zelda" game
- Exalted - A special one-off encounter traveling along the road from Northmarket to Eastfort has you come across a group of corpses surrounded by splatters of blood and butterflies, and a hidden item, usable in combat, can be dug up called an obsidian butterfly. This is a reference to the sorcery spell Death of Obsidian Butterflies from Exalted which conjures a wave of razor-sharp butterfly shaped obsidian stones flung at high speeds, presumably responsible for the massacre.

Subversion of Tropes
- Rather than being Norse\Germanic (as with the mythology Tolkien based them on) or Scottish (as many of the actors who portray them are), the Dwarves speak French... though they still like sheep. And in one of the funniest moments of the game (YMMH), the entire quest line Na Na Why Don't You Get a Job (and the entire treatment of Orcs in general) is one big subversion - that I am not going to spoil here. Seriously just play it and prepare to laugh.
- Despite the protagonist's constant insistence that he is "Chaotic Neutral" (a reference to the Dungeons & Dragons alignment system), his extreme selfishness, impulsive nature, and blatant disregard for the welfare of others would actually make him "Chaotic Evil".

If you are having trouble getting past his regeneration there is a very simple solution. If you use poison it not only takes his regeneration but also kills him for the same amount he would be healing. I hope this info will help.
